Vadim Tantsyura, M.S. '08, M.A., Dr.P.H. '15, is a recognized subject matter expert in Clinical Data Management (CDM) with over 20 years of experience spanning pharmaceutical companies, CROs, and academic institutions. His expertise covers all phases of drug development across diverse therapeutic areas, including oncology, ophthalmology, cardiovascular diseases, pain management, diabetes, rheumatology, inflammatory conditions, Alzheimer’s disease, pediatric autism, and ADHD.
Dr. Tantsyura has successfully led data management teams at Nuvation Bio, BioMarin, Infinity Pharmaceuticals, Regeneron, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Data Management Center, contributing to regulatory submissions and the approval of groundbreaking therapies such as ROCTAVIAN™ and EYLEA®.
He has played a significant role in advancing the CDM field through his industry contributions, serving as a Trustee of the Society for Clinical Data Management, conference chair, keynote speaker, founder of the SCDM Academic Task Force, and member of the JSCDM Editorial Board. He co-founded OpenCDISC (now Pinnacle 21), which was adopted by the FDA as its primary data validation tool in 2010.
Dr. Tantsyura holds advanced degrees in Biostatistics (M.S.) and Health Policy (Dr.P.H.) from New York Medical College, as well as degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ukraine and Economics from Yale University. He has taught Health Services Research to doctoral students at NYMC and published 16 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His primary research interests include risk-based approaches to data quality, as reflected in his doctoral dissertation, “Impact of Study Size on Data Quality in Regulated Clinical Research: Analysis of Probabilities of Erroneous Regulatory Decisions in the Presence of Data Errors.”
Originally from Kyiv, Ukraine, Dr. Tantsyura now resides in Nyack, NY, with his wife and three children. In his spare time, he enjoys classical music, chess, reading, and aspires to learn to cook and write five books.
