Course Description:

This course is concerned with the basic principles in the use of hormones as drugs. Lecture topics include neuroendocrinology, anterior and posterior pituitary hormones, thyroid diseases, treatment of diabetes, adrenal steroids, and reproductive hormones. Areas of research such as neuroendocrine peptides are also discussed.

Prerequisites: PHRM 1010 or PHRM 1020 is a pre- or co-requisite

Lectures: 2 hrs./wk. Letter-graded.
