INHM 6001 Primary Health Care Around the World (Summer) (Fall)

Course Description:

This course provides an introduction to primary health care in different areas of the world. Topics include systems of health care, review of international organizations, major public health problems, primary care providers, maternal and child health services, surveying for disease prevalence, vital data and information systems, sanitation and drinking water programs, and traditional and western therapies. An overview of the role of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (especially SDG3, SDG 6, and SDG 13 in strengthening primary health care systems are discussed.
