INHM 6008 Women and Health: A Global Perspective (Spring)

Course Description:

The social and health problems of women in developing countries are covered with a particular focus on human rights and its link to women’s health. Topics include reproductive, infectious, chronic diseases, neoplastic diseases, and other women’s health challenges specific to developing areas of the world, stressing the social, political, and economic aspects of health (social determinants) and their outcome on health status with emphasis on the health of women and girls will be highlighted as well. A discussion of MDGs and SDGs and their role in improving women’s health and their human rights are included in the various course modules.
