NYMed Talks 2018 Set to Focus on the Intersection of Medicine and Society

James O’Connell, M.D., headshotNYMed Talks 2018, set for Friday, April 13, in Nevins Auditorium in the Medical Education Center, will welcome James O’Connell, M.D., assistant professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and founding physician and president of the Boston Health Care for the Homeless Program, as the keynote speaker to complement this year’s theme, “Medicine and Society.” Known as the “Street Doctor,” Dr. O’Connell has specialized in delivering quality health care to the homeless population of Boston for more than 30 years. NYMed Talks, formerly known as Student-Physician Awareness Day (SPAD), is a one day, interdisciplinary, interprofessional event designed to expose healthcare students to topics outside of the academic curriculum.
