Graduate/Advanced Certificates

SHSP offers a wide variety of Graduate Certificate programs, many of which can be completed online.

Application Process and Requirements for the Advanced Certificate in Emergency Management Only

  • Your Application for Advanced Certificate in Emergency Management
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement explaining why you are interested in earning an advanced certificate in emergency management
  • Two letters of recommendation (employer or supervisor)
  • Bachelor's degree and original transcripts

Application Process for Advanced Certificates 
To apply for an Advanced Certificate, please complete the Application for Admission - MPH/Certificate.

To add an advanced certificate towards your M.P.H., please complete the Application to Add an Advanced Certificate.

Application Requirements
The following materials are required to complete your, or submit through SOPHAS until late August:

  • Application: SOPHAS will open in mid-August. Submit your, and application fee by the appropriate deadline. The centralized application service, SOPHAS, will instruct you on submitting recommendations and other required documents.
  • Transcript(s) of undergraduate (post-secondary) course work: All applicants for our graduate certificates must hold a baccalaureate degree, or its equivalent, from an accredited college or university. Prerequisite course requirements and work requirements vary by certificate program.
  • Two (2) Recommendations
  • Personal Statement
  • Resume

GRE is NOT required.

The application and GPA requirements are the same for the advanced certificates as the M.P.H.  

International Students
International students are not eligible to be admitted to on-campus certificate-only programs.  Online certificate international students must complete several additional requirements.
