The School of Health Sciences and Practice and the Department of Public Health are excited to announce a Master of Public Health (M.P.H.)—Generalist program. This decision was made based on feedback from prospective students and national demand for public health professionals since the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In response to this demand, the M.P.H. Generalist will allow students to tailor their educational experience by earning 18 and 21 elective credits in the overall 42-credit degree program. Students may choose elective courses based on interest or choose a concentration to fulfill the requirements for earning an Advanced Certificate (between 12-18 credits) in areas such as Global Health, Health Administration, Health Education and Emergency Management.
While earning the M.P.H. Generalist, students may use elective credits to acquire a certificate in the following areas:
Our full-time faculty are experienced researchers and recognized experts in public health. Their work is supplemented by part-time and adjunct faculty who are themselves senior administrators at hospitals and health care organizations, practicing epidemiologists, industrial hygiene specialists, health educators, and advocates.
Graduates of the M.P.H. Generalist are able to provide solutions to all areas of healthcare and in settings that are local, national or global in nature.
