Christiana Damo, M.S. '10 - Speech-Language Pathology

   Christina Damo

‌What made you choose New York Medical College?

Initially, my interest in NYMC was sparked because of its medically-oriented speech-language pathology program. After my interview and meeting with the faculty and staff, I knew that NYMC would be a wonderful fit. The faculty and staff were so welcoming, positive and made me feel part of the community.

What is your fondest memory of New York Medical College?

The friendships I formed with my classmates, as well as the professors.

What is your current professional role/position and some highlights of your career track?

Since graduation, I have continued to focus on the medical aspect, specifically swallowing disorders. I am currently working in an acute care hospital in upstate, NY. I spent the majority of my career working in acute rehab with patients suffering from spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and stroke.

Based on your experiences, what advice would you give to future students and/or future alumni of New York Medical College?

Keep pushing through it. I know it will be hard, but in the end, it will be more than worth it.

When you're not working, where are you most likely to be found/what are you most likely to be doing?

I love spending time with family and friends and training for triathlons.
