New to Housing

Welcome to housing at New York Medical College! We understand that you probably have several questions for us about how our housing works, what it looks like and how to apply. Below you will find program specific information that is subject to change yearly.   • Student housing is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All applications must be submitted through the New Student Application Form along with the $200 non-refundable application fee, applications will not be processed until the fee has been paid. DPT students will receive their housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures via email in early May. Move in for DPT students will be communicated to all students via email. Assignments are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.
  • Medical students will receive a housing application form and information from the Admissions Office via email no later than mid-May. Student housing is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All applications must be submitted through the New Student Application Form along with the $200 non-refundable application fee, applications will not be processed until the fee has been paid. Housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures will be sent via email in mid-July. Move in for Grassland I (unfurnished units) and Grasslands II buildings 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 (furnished units) will take place on an assigned spot basis sometime between Thursday, July 22, 2020 to July 23, 2020, you will get specific time and date through your NYMC email. Placements are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program.
  • Accelerated Basic Medical Science students will receive a housing application form and information from the Admissions Office via email no later than mid-May. Student housing is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so complete the application and submit it to our office along with your $200 non-refundable application fee as soon as possible. Housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures will be sent via email in mid-July. Move in for Grassland I (unfurnished) and move-in for Grasslands II buildings 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 (furnished units) will take place on an appointment basis between Thursday, July 22, 2020 to July 23, 2020 you will get specific time and date through your school email. Placements are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.
  • Master’s and PhD students accepted in the Basic Medical Science program approved for on campus housing can submit the New Student Application Form along with the $200 non-refundable application fee. The BMS program has a limited number of on-campus spaces and all assignments must be approved by the administration for this program. BMS students approved for housing will receive their housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures via e-mail in July. Move in for BMS and PhD students will take place the second week of August, specific times and days will be communicated to all students via email. Assignments are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.
  • Speech Language Pathology students interested in housing should submit the New Student Housing Application along with a non-refundable $200 application fee that you will be direct to after submitting the form, applications will not be processed until the fee has been paid. Student housing is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so students should submit their applications as soon as possible. SLP students will receive their housing assignments along with other important information regarding the move in process by no later than the end of June. SLP move in will take place the second week of August, specific times and days will be communicated to all students via email. Placements are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.
  • Students accepted into the Masters of Public Health program can apply for housing by clicking on the New Student Application Form, once the application has been completed there will be a link to pay a non-refundable $200 application fee. MPH students are not guaranteed housing and will be placed on a waiting list in the event that a space becomes available. Assignments are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.
