New to Housing

Welcome to housing at New York Medical College! We understand that you probably have several questions for us about how our housing works, what it looks like, and how to apply. Below you will find program-specific information that is subject to change yearly. Email Katherine Dillon with any questions after reading the website.

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) students
    Student housing is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All applications must be submitted through the New Student Application Form along with the $200 non-refundable application fee, applications will not be processed until the fee has been paid. D.P.T. students will receive their housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures via email in early May. Move-in for D.P.T. students will be communicated to all students via email. Assignments are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.
  • School of Medicine (SOM) students will receive a housing application form and information from the Office of Admissions via email no later than mid-May. SOM student housing is on a first-come, first-serve basis. All applications must be submitted through the New Student Application Form along with the $200 non-refundable application fee, applications will not be processed until the fee has been paid. Housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures will be sent via email in mid-July. Move-in for Grassland I (unfurnished units) and Grasslands II buildings 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 (furnished units) will take place on an assigned spot basis sometime in late June - Mid July, you will get specific time and date through your NYMC email. Placements are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program.

  • Accelerated Biomedical Science students will receive a housing application form and information from the Admissions Office via email no later than mid-May. Student housing is on a first-come, first-served basis, so complete the application and submit it to our office along with your $200 non-refundable application fee as soon as possible. Housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures will be sent via email in mid-July. Move-in for Grassland I (unfurnished) and move-in for Grasslands II buildings 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 (furnished units) will take place on an assigned spot basis sometime in late June - Mid July, you will get specific time and date through your school email.   • Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (GSBMS) M.S. and Ph.D. students approved for on-campus housing can submit the New Student Application Form along with the $200 non-refundable application fee. The GSBMS program has a limited number of on-campus spaces and all assignments must be approved by the administration for this program. Students approved for housing will receive their housing assignments and other pertinent information regarding the move-in procedures via e-mail in July. Move-in for M.S. and Ph.D. students will take place the second week of August, specific times and days will be communicated to all students via email. Assignments are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.

  • Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) students interested in housing should submit the New Student Housing Application along with a non-refundable $200 application fee that you will be directed to after submitting the form, applications will not be processed until the fee has been paid. Student housing is on a first-come, first-served basis, so students should submit their applications as soon as possible. SLP students will receive their housing assignments along with other important information regarding the move-in process by no later than the end of June. SLP move-in will take place the second week of August, specific times and days will be communicated to all students via email. Placements are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.

  • Masters of Public Health (M.P.H.) students accepted into the program can apply for housing by clicking on the New Student Application Form, once the application has been completed there will be a link to pay a non-refundable $200 application fee. M.P.H. students are not guaranteed to house and will be placed on a waiting list in the event that a space becomes available. Assignments are made based on availability at the time of assignment for the program. Student housing applicants are not guaranteed their first preference.
