Amenities

NYMC offers a variety of amenities for students living on campus in the Grasslands residence halls. Centrally located in the residence hall complex in the Student Center Building, which houses includes amenities for exclusive use by students living on campus. It is open 24 hours a day with NYMC ID card access to only students living on campus.

Laundry

Available to students living on campus, there are two laundry rooms located in the Student Center Building. It is open 24 hours a day with NYMC ID card access to only students living on campus.

Fitness Center for Housing Students

The Nicholas and Liberta Testa Fitness Center is for exclusive use by students and occupants of the Grasslands residential halls. The Center consists of two rooms: one contains cardiovascular equipment (stair climbers, treadmills and stationary bicycles) and the other with weight-training equipment (Nautilus and Universal machines, punching bag and free weights). It is open 24 hours a day with NYMC ID card access to only students living on campus.

In addition, many students gather for informal sports competitions in the field behind the Alumni House. There are various areas on campus where students gather to socialize. See where picnic and recreation areas are located on the campus map.

Additional athletic facilities include local town recreation programs. The town of Pocantico Hills has outdoor tennis courts and a community pool that is available to NYMC students living on campus.

On-Site Superintendent

There is an on-site superintendent responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Grasslands residence halls on campus who performs maintenance repairs and other facilities-related tasks.

24-Hour Security

24-hour security is provided by officers of the Office of Public Safety, which is located in the Basic Sciences Building. More information is available on the Office of Public Safety section of the website.

Blanche and Albert Willner, M.D. '43, Playground

In the late 1990s, Albert Wilner, M.D. '44, and his family donated funds to build a playground in student housing for NYMC students can enjoy with their children and family. View the location of the children's playground on the campus map.

Mail

On-campus residential students can receive mail. The mailing address will be your apartment number in campus housing. There is no need to include “New York Medical College” or “Grasslands Housing” in the address.
