Dr. Blanco is licensed by New York State and has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association. She has evaluated and treated medically complex patients across the lifespan with various speech, language, feeding and communication difficulties. Dr. Blanco worked as a Lead Speech-Language Pathologist for over 10 years at a pediatric specialty hospital in addition to working in a variety of other settings including schools, clinics, and private practices. Her professional interests include motor speech disorders and use of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) for individuals with complex communication needs. Dr. Blanco has received extensive ongoing training in the area of assistive technology and credentialing through RESNA as an Assistive Technology Professional (ATP). In her various positions she has been involved in staff and community training, program development, and maintenance and implementation of assistive technology across settings. She is trained in Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP), Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT), Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), Cognitive Rehabilitation by American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), and Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT).
