Ben Johnson, Ed.D., has been a university faculty member/administrator for more than 36 years. Over his career, Dr. Johnson has worked at Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, City University of New York (CUNY) Brooklyn College, University of Kentucky, and now, New York Medical College. He has extensive and varied expertise in the Colleges of Health Sciences and Practice and Institute of Public Health, Health and Human Services, Health and Human Sciences, Natural and Behavioral Sciences, and Education. Dr. Johnson is an experienced researcher and an excellent teacher with a strong commitment to administration, research and scholarly activity, and professional/community service and outreach. He is a highly capable fund developer and advocate for health, education, science, and human service-related programs. Dr. Johnson has a transformational leadership style in combination with the incorporation of democratic/participative and charismatic leadership principles. He has significant experience/expertise in:

  • Administration of university-based colleges, centers, departments, academic programs and
  • Research/scholarly activity, teaching, and service in health/wellness/rehabilitation/research labs ergonomics/global engagement/social change
  • Development of opportunities for underserved populations including people with disabilities, women, and girls, and youth in the U.S. as well as developing nations, particularly in Africa and the Middle East.
  • Development of strategic partnerships to promote collaborative research/teaching/service projects, mutual understanding, peacebuilding, and human rights
  • Acquisition of funds to support professional activities through grants
