Peter Panzica, M.D.
Chair and Clinical Associate Professor, Anesthesiology
Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, Peter J. Panzica received his medical degree from the University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. He completed his internship in anesthesiology at Winthrop University Hospital and his residency and fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, MA.
Dr. Panzica's clinical interests include cardiac anesthesia, transesophageal echocardiography, transplant anesthesia, thoracic anesthesia and practice management. Dr. Panzica is certified with the American Board of Anesthesiology. He previously held the title of Clinical Director & Vice Chief, Department of Anesthesia in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and assistant professor, anesthesiology, Harvard Medical School.
In his leisure time, Dr. Panzica enjoys playing golf and traveling, particularly to wine regions. He also enjoys cooking and fine dining which also ties into his love for wine tasting. Exploring different regions and having the ability to meet producers and understand the region is what enhances the experience most.
