Fabio Danisi, M.D

Fabio Danisi, M.D.Associate Professor of Neurology

Dr. Danisi is Associate Director of Neurology, MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY - part of the Westchester Medical Center Network, and is Associate Professor of Neurology at New York Medical College. He is also adjunct Professor at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Middletown, NY.

Dr. Danisi is a native of Rome, Italy where he graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” medical school cum laude. He completed a Neurology residency and was chosen Chief Resident at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. He also completed a Movement Disorders fellowship at Mount Sinai in 1998.

In the past, he has served as Censor and Treasurer of the Ulster County Medical Society, Secretary of the Health Alliance Hospital Medical Staff Executive Committee and Board Member of the Taconic IPA.

He is active in the field of Movement Disorders, and is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Essential Tremor, Huntington's Chorea, Dystonia, Tics and Spasticity.

Dr. Danisi employs multiple treatment modalities, including botulinum toxin injections for dystonia, spasticity, hyperhidrosis, sialorrhea, and chronic headaches. He is skilled in use of intrathecal baclofen pump therapy and Deep Brain Stimulation therapy for Parkinson’s, Essential tremor and dystonia. He has been Principal Investigator for several Clinical Research Trials. He has published book chapters and peer-reviewed original articles on Parkinson's disease, Dystonia and related topics.
