Personal Profile:

After receiving his medical degree from Delhi University, Dr. Chugh completed his medicine residency and nephrology fellowship at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College (NYMC). He went on to serve as a faculty member and now as Program Director of Adult Nephrology fellowship training at Westchester Medical Center. He is also an attending physician in the department of Nephrology at Westchester Medical Center and White Plains hospital. Throughout his training and career, he has published and presented widely on a number of Nephrology topics with special interest on Acute Kidney Injury. He is the author of over 10 peer-reviewed paper, reviews, book chapter, and has over 50 abstract presented at various international meetings including the American Society of Nephrology. Dr.Chugh is the recipient of multiple awards for excellence in teaching residents and medical students at Westchester Medical Center and New York Medical College. His major area of interest are studying and understanding the pathophysiology of acute kidney injury in hospitalized patient and Thrombotic Microangiopathies. His current research projects include clinical trials on Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome and studying novel biomarkers in the pathogenesis and earlier diagnosis of patient with advanced heart failure and cirrhosis.
